Our story began the same way many great adventures do — with a van, a dream, and the open road.

Adventurebumss Van Conversions was born from a love of craftsmanship, travel, and the freedom that comes from living life on your own terms. In 2019, founders Eric and Candace Malan built their very first custom camper van — their dream home on wheels — and set off with their two dogs, Boomer and Luna, to explore the California coast.

For nine unforgettable months, they lived full-time on the road, balancing work and adventure. Candace worked remotely as a Registered Dental Assistant, while Eric continued in construction alongside his grandpa. Life was simple, raw, and inspiring — and it revealed how powerful it could be to live small but live fully. That journey planted the seed for what would soon become Adventurebumss Van Conversions, one of Northern California’s top custom van conversion companies.

What started in a small garage quickly grew into a thriving van conversion business. For the past five years, Eric and Candace have poured their hearts into every project — designing, cutting, wiring, and crafting each Sprinter van conversion and adventure van build by hand. As their skills and demand grew, they invested in advanced equipment like a CNC machine to bring unmatched precision and efficiency to every design, ensuring every detail was perfectly dialed in.

Their adventure eventually led them to plant roots of their own. After purchasing their first home in the Auburn / Grass Valley area, they welcomed their son Lukas — the newest little adventurer in the crew. Today, their Adventurebumss Van Conversions shop sits just minutes down the road, filled with sawdust, laughter, and the sound of dreams being built one van at a time.
